Autumn is fading, and winter is close, and what have I been doing? Fun things!
Firstly – The Finest Hours has another trailer out! In the spirit of Veterans’ Day, Disney released trailer number two, which had the honor of a first look in Time Square this morning on Good Morning America as they honored a group of Coast Guard officers. Here’s a link to the GMA spot, but you can watch the trailer right here:
In October I was delighted to join New Art Theatre as a collaborating artist to create an original work of literature, theatre and dance. Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allen Poe: Exploring The Great Darkness was a spooky stage adaptation of these American authors, including classics like The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart and Young Goodman Brown. This was a small-cast piece, using four actors, two dancers, light, sound and live music to bring these Hallowe’en-time tales to life. It was fun to be a part of this process, from day one of rehearsals improvising movement and choosing poems, to our post-show talk-backs with some pretty sharp high-school students.
For November, I’m going back to school! I’ve started taking improv classes with Erik Volkert at Improv Boston. (Uh, WHY didn’t I do this sooner?!) Erik is an incredible teacher, and I’m a little bummed that the session is already halfway over.
Stay tuned for more news on The Finest Hours. Happy Veterans’ Day and thank you to all who have served our country!
