WELL. I may be a bit late on that one, but happy 2013 indeed! The year has started off with quite a bang for me.
First: I've been nominated for a New Hampshire Theater Award for Best Actress in a Drama Comedy for my role of Portia in The Merchant of Venice with Advice to the Players! Wow! I'm quite honored and excited, not to mention proud of the rest of the AttP troupe including my friend and scene partner Christine Titus, who was also nominated as Best Supporting Actress for Nerissa! AttP also has a third nomination for their summer production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona in the Best Production Drama/Comedy category. Check out the website for the NHTAs to see the full list of nominees in both professional and community divisions, and for more information on awards night.
Second: Having fun working with Zeitgeist Stage Company once more in Life of Riley by Alan Ayckbourn. The show opens February 8th and runs through March 2nd, Wednesdays – Sundays, with two shows on Saturday and a Sunday matinee. For tickets, see Boston Theater Scene, and keep an eye out here and on my facebook page for upcoming ticket deals (hint!).
Third: I'm wicked thrilled to announce that I've been cast as Cassius in Advice to the Players' Julius Caesar this March! I'm so psyched to tackle this role (a villain!) and share the stage once again with fellow AttPers (including this guy, who will be playing Brutus!).
Touring with Chamber Theater Productions was a great experience. (Here's a peek at what I got to do every morning. I'm Katrina in the blonde wig and the school boy!) I got to perform every day, see some wonderful places and gorgeous country side, make some amazing friends, act in some truly beautiful theaters that were once played by big stars and inspiring artists, try some awesome food and all sorts of new things (like navigating a 26-foot box truck through Washington D.C. traffic!). It was a wild ride, but I'm glad to be home and diving in to some new challenges of a different sort.
I hope the new year is good to you!
